‘Deathwoods’ Teaser Trailer – Horror Throwback Pays Tribute to the Golden Age of Slasher Movies

You’ll bring a sleeping bag but leave in a body bag in Deathwoods, an upcoming slasher throwback that Bloody Disgusting is exclusively previewing with a teaser trailer this afternoon.

Deathwoods is a feature length slasher film, and it’s currently in post production. No word yet on a release date, but you can whet your appetite with the retro teaser trailer below!

Dark Dreams Productions, Simpatico Pictures and Good Spirits Films present Deathwoods, a modern day slasher with elements of classic grindhouse films. The team previews, “In the vein of the great films that came before it like The Burning, Madman, and PiecesDeathwoods promises nothing less than extreme bloodshed and mayhem.”

In the film, “A weekend of camping intended to break Scott out of his post breakup depression, quickly turns into a weekend of bloodshed, as his friends are picked off one by one by the urban legend that haunts the woods surrounding the small town of Old Hickory, Tennessee.”

Here’s the full synopsis…

Twenty years ago, the Wallace Family lived deep in the woods surrounding the small town of Old Hickory, Tennessee. After a terrible murder/suicide fell upon the family, rumors circulated around town, and quickly turned into ghost stories about a grotesque, mutated kid, that now haunts those very woods.

Now in present day, Scott’s friends, Kyle and Jessica, plan a weekend camping trip with the intention of breaking Scott out of his post breakup depression by setting him up with Jessica’s friend, Michelle. Their plan to bring Scott and Michelle together, quickly turns into them being torn apart by the urban legend that haunts the very woods they’re camping in.
