House at the End of the Street (2012)

House at the End of the Street (2012) is a psychological horror-thriller that blends suburban unease with chilling secrets and twisted obsession. When newly divorced Sarah (Elisabeth Shue) and her teenage daughter Elissa (Jennifer Lawrence) move into a quiet, upscale neighborhood, they hope for a fresh start. But their hopes are quickly unsettled when they learn their new home borders a house with a dark past—where a young girl allegedly murdered her parents and vanished without a trace.

Despite local warnings, Elissa is drawn to the reclusive Ryan (Max Thieriot), the only surviving member of the tragic household, who now lives alone in the decaying property. As their relationship deepens, Elissa begins to uncover disturbing truths that unravel everything she thought she knew about the house, the neighborhood, and Ryan himself.

Tense and layered with unsettling twists, House at the End of the Street explores the fine line between sympathy and danger, love and manipulation. It’s a haunting reminder that some secrets were never meant to be unearthed.
